In 2008 Batis Yachting and Tourism changed its corporate charter.  BATIS Yachting & Tourism was active in the area of sailboat rentals since 1978, providing unforgettable sailing vacations in Greece and the Greek islands. The company began using the Batis Yachts Ltd., and was located in Athens, Greece.  In 1997 the company changed their name to Batis S.A. and relocated to Nikiana on the island of Lefkada, the heart of Ionian Sea.  Shortly thereafter Batis S.A. changed to BATIS Yachting MCPY (Maritime Company of Pleasure Yachts). This type of corporation (MCPY) can only be created and, can only operate in Greece.  In contrast to other corporate charters, the MCPY regulations allow the company to develop a variety of activities solely related to its maritime services on the condition that it owns at least one sea vessel.

We decided to change our charter, because the MCPY offers tax advantages and has less bureaucratic burdens than other corporate forms.  In addition to these organizational improvements, BATIS Yachting MCPY was created to further enhance our main aim, being to further improve the services provided to our customers and charterers.  Our head offices are 9 km outside the main town of Lefkada and 4 km from the cosmopolitan town of Nydri. The company owns new, comfortable and safe boats and is also affiliated with sailboat charter and tourist offices in Athens, Kos, Samos and Skiathos thus covering the entire map of Greece.

BATIS is one of the leading companies in the yacht rental industry and is credited with the highest number of charters annually on the Ionian servicing the islands of Corfu, Lefkada, Ithaca, Cephalonia and Zakynthos.  Our highly qualified staff provides excellent service to our customers and provides detailed information and support prior to each journey.  We guarantee safe and pleasant voyages to those who travel with our sailboats.  Departures are designated by the charterer.  A manual is provided to every charterer detailing the proper sailing instructions in simple and clear terms.  The manual also includes tips on sailing techniques, appropriate wind ECT, dock details and includes sightseeing information for islands and destinations the charterers have selected to visit.

BATIS comes highly recommended and has gained the trust of our long standing clientele due to our vast knowledge, and long term experience in the yachting industry.  We strive to provide impeccable service and display the utmost in politeness.  Our team of experienced technicians is always on call and capable of attending to any problems that may arise during the cruise.  Further to our on-board crew, we also maintain an on shore repair department for plastic and wood, including a variety of necessary mechanical and technical equipment such as lathe, labor, argon and press at the Port of Nikiana, Lefkada.  In the event of a repair breakdown, BATIS provides a cruiser for safe transport back to shore.
